Cruising Through The Coosa River News. The Coosa River News was published in Centre, Cherokee County, Al from 1878 to 1958. I have been transcribing births, deaths, marriages and other items of genealogical interest from the older editions of the newspapers. Volume 1 covers mainly The Coosa River News from 1882 to 1894. However it also covers all of the known existing copies of Cherokee county newspapers prior to 1882. The other volumes cover 10 year periods of the Coosa River News and are as follows:
