Marian R. Cady, formerly of Dunmore, died Saturday at Meadow Crest Hospital, New Orleans. Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Marion Kingdom Sample, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School, and received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a master of art from the University of California at San Diego. Before retirement, she was a technical writer of computer software for the federal government. She was a member of Good Samaritan Church, San Diego, Calif., the P.E.O. Club and the Mensa Club. Surviving are a son, Bruce, Waldwick, N.J.; a daughter, Leslie Walker, Peach Tree City, Ga.; two brothers, James Sample, Montrose, and Joseph Sample, Red Lion; a sister, Elaine Kiesling (sic), Harrisburg; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
