    Founded in Scranton in 1924; 53 moved mother house to Brockton, Massachusetts, in 1945. 1 (St Mary's Villa, Elmhurst)
  • CP - Nuns of the Passion of Our Lord, Jesus Christ (Passionist Nuns) - www.intiques.net/cpnuns :
    Founded in Italy in 1771 by St Paul of the Cross; first US foundation 1924; established St Gabriel's Monastery in Dunmore in 1926; 2 , 54 relocated to Clarks Summit
  • CSFN - Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth - www.phila-csfn.org :
    Founded in Italy in 1875 by Frances Siedliska, Mother Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd; 3 first US foundation in 1885; 54 came to Scranton in 1889. 4

  • IHM - Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary - ihm.marywood.edu :
    Longest continuous presence in NEPA. Founded in Monroe, Michigan in 1845 by Father Louis Florent Gillet, CSSR, and Sister Theresa Maxis Duchemin; 8 , 9 came to St Joseph Academy, Susquehanna County, in 1858; 10 Scranton provincial established in 1871 54 ( Marywood University and St Joseph Center , Scranton; Marian Hospital , Carbondale)
