Organized 1887 under the leadership of Rev Ivan Volansky, first Ruthenian priest to arrive in the US; chartered 1892; rebuilt 1911; cemetery chapel blessed 7 Nov 1988. Mother church of Ss Peter & Paul Ukrainian in Plymouth (1898), St Nicholas Byzantine in Swoyersville (1904), St Vladimir Ukrainian in Edwardsville (1910) and St John's Russian Orthodox in Edwardsville (1910).¹
