Alcan
 

 

Alcan is located just inside the Alaska border, southeast of Northway along the Alaska-Canadian highway. It lies at approximately 62° 43' N Latitude, 141° 11' W Longitude (Sec. 04, T026N, R022E, Copper River Meridian). The community is located in the Fairbanks Recording District. The area encompasses 154 sq. miles of land and 1 sq. miles of water.

Alcan is a non-Native community of families employed by federal customs at the entry point into the U.S. and Alaska from Canada. The name is derived from the Alaska-Canadian (Alcan) highway.
