Hicksford  July 7th 1853

 

Dear Sir

    I recd two letters from you last night dated 5th & 6th inst.

    In reply to that of the 5th - I am satisfied that the James Robinson whose service I am anxious to make out never recd a land warrant; if so it is not known by his family. John Robinson (who served in the war a short time) Knows and will prove that James Robinson was in service several years, probably 3- If not entitled to anything further, are not his children entitled under Act Feby 1853 to some half pay pension for some number of years. If you will find a ridiculous anidote of a soldier under Capt Robinson, inquiring when the pension takes at Hicksford were paroled, what kind of a death that was. That Capt Robinson was Littleberry Robinson & James Robinson above mentioned was his son. John Robinson (now alive) was present and was taken prisoner for the sake of my County. I will state that I have of the _____ from my father & other gentlemen- that the ridiculous inquiry
