Harrison Pyle's house. Born circa 1830, he had
been a slave of Abner Johnson before emancipation

Wedding photos of Andrew "Andy" Love and Spransey Ross.
They were married in Kaufman County on
31 Oct. 1872. On the 1870 Kaufman County census,
Spransey is shown as age 15, black female, born in
Texas, living with her parents Lewis & Mary Ross and 9
siblings. Two doors away Andy Love is shown in the
household of Cave Johnson, listed as age 20, black male,
born in Texas.

Alice Love
Born: Kaufman TX
April 12th A.D. 1852
In 1870 Alice Love was living with her sister Mariah and
Mariah's husband Philip Woodson in
Kaufman, TX. On the census she is listed as age 18,
black, female, keeping house, born in TX.

(in pencil) Died July 3rd 1878
Minty married Calip Ross in Kaufman County on 28 Feb
1871. On the marriage record her name is
listed as Minta Ross, but research has proven her maiden
name was Johnson.
