Researching: ANDERSON - No.
Carolina
I am searching information on the Anderson
family from Granville, NC from 1825-1870. Here
is the info that I have:
Sandy
Anderson (b) 1825, Granville, NC.
His
mother is believed to be Files Anderson of the
same county.
They
are listed as mulatto. I believe that they were
free because Sandy is listed on the 1830 census
as being 5 yrs old and if he were a slave his
name wouldn't be listed, only the age of the
slave master's slaves. Help

Researching: WEST - No.
Carolina
Hello, I am at a brickwall with
my g grandfather: Silas West b. 1832, NC, d. Jan
1900 - Apr. 1910, Sampson, NC, Siblings not
sure. married date not available. Winifred
"Winnie" Barefoot b. abt. 1845, Johnston County,
NC. d. after May 26, 1931, Johnston Co, NC at
age 85.
According to the 1870 census, he
was married to Winnie with 3 children, Westbrook
Township, Sampson County, NC. I have the
information on the Barefoot ancestors. I need
information on the West ancestors. One reason, I
can not find Silas West parents is that he does
not have a birth or death certificate or a
marriage bond. He died before the birth and
death certificates were issues in 1913.
Where was he before the 1870
census, I can not find anything. In the census,
that I have found he lived in the same block as
Lloyd West b, 1800, Sampson County, NC whom I
think could be his father. No proof. He was very
close to the West family and it does seem that
there is a connection there.
We have done the WEST DNA Project
and matched 12 out of 12 markers with James
West, b, 1798, SC.
