Black History
The goals of these repositories are similar
if not the same as U.S. African American Griots
and that is to preserve materials relevant to African
American history. A brief description of each Center is
listed below along with their addresses.

The Black
Archives Research Center and Museum is housed in the
Carnegie Library on the Campus of Florida A& M University is
the home of the Black Archives Research Center and
Museum. Among the documents and artifacts housed at
this repository are letters, photographs, slave papers,
military records, manuscripts, and an oral history
collection.

This collection has manuscripts, photographs, documents,
souvenir programs and research materials that may be used by
scholars, students, and the public. The organization has a
speaker's bureau, sponsors community events and educational
programs as a part of their mission to enhance African
